Why the name change?
For many people and companies, 2020/2021 has been a period of change. The global pandemic has made us revisit what we offer in terms or products and services, as well as the way we deliver them.
Personally, it was a time to connect back to my roots and acknowledge that my love of marketing strategy was still my #1 passion. For me, it’s like the jigsaws I did during the UK’s lockdowns - you have the objectives you want to achieve (the picture); you know the people, skills and resources available (the pieces) so the challenge is working out the best way to put them together! I enjoy coming up with ideas and thinking how we can get my clients attention and sales from the people they want as customers.
Having confirmed that, I realised that the name Sookias Media (chosen by the way, before the meteoric rise of social media marketing) was starting to be a constraint.
I wanted my new name to be unique, just as my advice is bespoke and tailored to each of my clients. I wanted two names to reflect the collaborative, partnership approach that I take. And on a personal level, I wanted it to remind me of my roots whilst giving longevity into the future.
Chovil and Thake are family names, courtesy of my grandparents. With my generation all being female, they’ve sadly died out from my branch of the family, so it’s extra special that they can live on as my new company name. They are my past, my present and my future and I’m proud to share them with you!
